55mm Camlock Machine Vise
One of the problems I encountered with the Mini-Mill, is the limited distance between the quill and the table. With a large vise it was sometimes impossible to change to a longer drill bit i.e. you drill a small pilot hole, then change drill to the larger final size.
You can get short drills, but this is a bit of an overkill at times. To ease this problem I have done two things. the first was to buy a couple of smaller drill chucks, and the second was to buy a much smaller machine vise.
The 55mm Camlock vice is a common design offered by many outlets. I purchased this one from Arc Eurotrade.
This is NOT a heavy duty vise, but for the normal light milling I do it works very well. Here are a few pictures of the beast.
