Focusser 3

This sequence is where I start to differ slightly from Michael's method.

The bearings obtained from arc eurotrade, come with two ground thrust washers intended to be used on each side of the bearing. As these washers give the bearing a good flat surface to run on I wanted to use them.

The first image shows the bearings and washers. The second image was a quick fit test - if you look carefully you will see that I had left a nylon washer in place. The third image is important, the recessed area between the brass threads, and the black housing is where the silver focus knob grub screws are supposed to make contact. As I install the bearings and washers, the last two images show the recess vanishing into the housing and behind the bearings. Also note on the final image in the sequence, that the bearings and washers are much bigger than the focus housing. There is only a couple of mm of metal for the washer to bed against. This was another thing that I wanted to address.
